I didn’t know who it was until I peaked then I had the ahha moment. My daughter is the photographer in the family and is always telling me and showing me somebody’s work. She studying in Santa Fe School of Art and Design, and loving it. Unlike words, images have a story unto them self that can render a person immobile upon first glance.

Nancy, it’s so great to see you here! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I saw one of Avedon’s shows at the MET too, along with several elsewhere. It’s always a powerful experience to see his work in full scale. I’ve read about his legendary intensity. Perhaps that’s part of what made him so great.

Hi Becky,
Avedon has always been huge for me, i remember seeing his photos at the MET in the eighties and fell for his style immediately. was lucky enough to meet him in Cheyenne, Wyo when he was shooting his western series. an intense and interesting man. thanks for featuring him and bringing back great memories.
